Dear Hostodo Customer:
As part of our ongoing commitment of transparency to our clients, we may periodically provide you with information that we feel you may find advantageous for business planning purposes.
We are providing this notification today because you have services with us at our Miami, Florida data center facility. This particular notification is in response to an announcement that has been made by the National Hurricane Center (http://www.nhc.noaa.gov) -- it has been indicated that a storm is approaching some South Florida regions. Additional details are still emerging -- including storm arrival time-frame, duration, and specific areas that will receive the effects of this storm.
First and foremost, we would like to assure you that we do not anticipate any impact to your services and that the facility in which your services are being provided was built (both structurally, and with critical infrastructure redundancies) to endure a storm of the reported magnitude. Utility failover infrastructure, including UPS and generators -- as well as conventional infrastructure (such as cooling infrastructure), has all undergone and passed recent testing to ensure optimal operation, if or when engaged. As usual, this facility will remain fully-staffed throughout the storm; staff will be proactively monitoring your infrastructure and services.
While we do not expect there to be any interruption to your services, we would like to make sure you are aware of the precautions that have been taken, and the continuous detail-oriented attention we are allocating on your behalf. Additionally, we would like to address any questions you may have.
In addition to this announcement, periodically we may also provide some best practice suggestions. For this particular event, it would be best practice and recommended (for an additional layer of assurance) that you ensure you create up-to-date backups -- or that your existing backup arrangements are both functioning properly, and up-to-date.
Hostodo prides itself on persistently employing best-practices that protect clients from impact from both common risks and unforeseen events (including natural disasters). As always, we believe that transparency is important -- if or when additional updates or notifications are found to be beneficial, we will be sure to communicate these with you. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to share them with us at [email protected]. We will be here, and readily available to assuage any questions, concerns or feedback you may have.
Thank you,
Hostodo Management
