Install Apache Web Server on Centos 7

The Apache HTTP Server Project is an effort to develop and maintain an open-source HTTP server for modern operating systems including UNIX and Windows NT. The goal of this project is to provide a secure, efficient and extensible server that provides HTTP services in sync with the current HTTP standards.

Yum Install Apache/httpd

yum install httpd

Enable httpd service to start on boot

systemctl enable httpd.service

You should see something like

ln -s '/usr/lib/systemd/system/httpd.service' '/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/httpd.service'

Disable httpd service from start on boot

systemctl disable httpd.service

Start/Stop/Restart Apache

Start

systemctl start httpd.service

Stop

systemctl stop httpd.service

Restart

systemctl restart httpd.service

Check if Apache is Running

Is Running

systemctl is-active httpd.service
